sports vol. I

Example of racist discourse: discipline as knowledge/Power, or why being ‘knowledgeable’ is considered valuable by fans of Professional Sports:

What did ... I mean ... how can ... wow. That's it, wow. He didn't know that games could end in a tie. You know who knows that games can end in ties? Everyone. Even Tony Siragusa knows that. Yet a quarterback who has led his team to four NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl didn't know. I mean, it's not like the referee says it before every overtime session! (And to those who think he's joking, he's not. Donovan laughs at his own jokes more than Jon Stewart; his demeanor was far too serious for that to be a joke, despite what his inevitable excuse is today.)

What did Donovan think that "T" section in the standings was next to the "W" and "L"? Was he confused when he had to run a hurry up offense with two minutes left? And in 2002, when his team played the 9-6-1 Falcons in the playoffs, did McNabb think those numbers represented the Atlanta area code?

Maybe athletes' lack of knowledge about the sports they play is more widespread than we know. (This would explain Joe Morgan.) A friend of mine who played college football had no clue that there wasn't a two-minute warning in the college game. But I just emailed him and even he knew that NFL games end in ties.

Incredible. His lack of knowledge of the game that pays him millions is topped only by his lack of clutch performances in big games. It's beyond time to get out the hook and get McNabb and Reid off the stage.

What a complete Moron McNabb is. And to think last week Eli Manning knew the rules well enough to tell Tom Coughlin to challenge the penalty called against him for throwing over the line of scrimmage. Manning knew the rule well enough that he was aware your entire body had to be across the line for it to be a penalty. The Giants challenged and won and of course it led to a Giants touchdown in a game they ended up winning by five over Donavan and the Eagles. The next time the Eagles and Giants play each other the check in the QB column better go to Eli, at least on gray matter anyway.

"Will you cry when Romo finally pops the question to Jessica? "

END QUOTE

Romo will have to ask her daddy first. I should have added Romo to my list. If Romo worked at a car wash she wouldn't give him a whiff. If they marry it will last 2 years. That's about how long Romo will be an NFL QB. His career has been Alice in Wonderland but the bunny is about to wake up. I am glad he is back because the pokes aint going nowhere and they'll hit rock bottom next year. Romo will be benched then cut. Then by, by Jessica.
Romo's a moron.

Pumped cobra is exactly that--pumped full of you know what. Where if he had any sense he go do himself instead of letting others do it to him

Makes sense...for a player who simply has no passion for the game. I have never seen any QB or player laugh and smile after underthrowing/overthrowing his receivers so much.

This proves that McNabb is not fully into the sport of football. How can you not know that after an overtime period the game ends in a tie. If you have any love for football, you know of that rule. I would just bench him for the rest of the season if I were the Eagles, if he doesn't know that rule, he doesn't deserve to QB an NFL football team. Even kids in elementary know of that rule.

McNabb will become a great pro quarterback and I will become King of the Earth...both in the same week. Jeeeezzzzzzz, he has been a major disappointment.......but his Mom makes a good bowl of soup.......who his daddy be?

Wow! And I thought Vince Young had the lowest IQ of any qb.

Lay off the blunts and 40's you stupid idiot. McNabb you suck. You cost me the playoffs yesterday. Learn the rules or retire you dumb idiot.

These are expressions of class antagonism; or, this is how we talk about our lives.
